VI-2 Ordinis sexti tomus secundus (Opera Omnia Desiderii Erasmi – Erasmus, Opera Omnia) - Tapa dura

Part Two of Ordo VI of the Amsterdam edition of Erasmi opera omnia presents his Greek text and his Latin translation of the Gospel according to St. John and the Acts of the Apostles. A critical edition of the Latin text is offered containing an introduction in English and a commentary including an identification of sources quoted, and, where relevant, any linguistic, philological, theological or historical background information necessary to understand the Latin text.

This edition of the "Complete Works of Erasmus of Rotterdam" is arranged according to the division into nine ordines which Erasmus himself laid down for the posthumous publication of his collected works. Each ordo is devoted to a specific literary or thematic category. In this edition, each text is preceded by an historical introduction, and is accompanied by two sets of notes: an apparatus criticus (that is, the text-critical notes) and a commentary, in which Erasmus' sources are identified and references to contemporary persons and events clarified.
