"The topics are lucidly reviewed, and practical suggestions and recommendations abound....This is a very useful book for physicians and nurses who provide neonatal intensive care. It would be an asset in every neonatal intensive care unit. The clear text and complementary illustrations make this book an excellent didactic tool. Rating: Three Stars--Waldemar A. Carlo, MD, University of Alabama Doody's Journal "Major diagnoses, such as congenital diaphramatic hernia and respiratory distress syndrome, are well covered, and all the rare respiratory conditions recently seen at our neonatal unit are included....The editors of this book have more than adequately accomplished their goals, and I expect it will serve as an excellent adjunct in the care of neonates in intensive care nurseries."--The New England Journal of Medicine "The topics are lucidly reviewed, and practical suggestions and recommendations abound....This is a very useful book for physicians and nurses who provide neonatal intensive care. Reseña del editor:
Disorders of the lungs and the respiratory tract are the most important and serious conditions affecting the new born baby. Approximately 80 per cent of the work in a neonatal intensive care unit is concerned with lung disease and the management of infants with respiratory failure. This is currently a rapidly developing and changing specialty, and this book aims to provide a new and up-to-date reference on the subject.
