The second volume of the poet's autobiography covers his marriage and attempts to reconcile his isolationist Christian faith with the life of the church. His trust in God was confirmed when, in spite of great adversity, he received a letter marking the beginning of a lasting partnership. The author is deaf and blind. He was the recipient of the Atlantic Prize, 1948 for "Wilding Graft". Other works include "The Invading Gospel", "Confession of a Rebel", "The Shadowed Bed", "A Different Drummer" and "Selected Poems".
