Everyone's heard about Black Beauty. But what about the rest of his family? Here we meet some of his other extraordinary relations, each with an amazing story to tell. There's his brother, Black Ebony, who is involved in a terrible mining accident, his great niece Black Princess, a heroine in World War One; and then there's Black Velvet, a distant relation whose life as a show jumper is about to change dramatically. Three horse stories by the Pullein-Thompson sisters Josephine Pullein-Thompson (1924-2014), Diana Pullein-Thompson (1925-2015), and Christine Pullein-Thompson (1925-2005). The three sisters, brought up in rural post WW1 Britain, were prolific writers, known mainly for their pony books, mostly fictional, aimed at children and mostly popular with girls. They started at a very young age, initially writing collectively, and they were at their peak in the 1950s and 1960s, but their popularity has endured. Nº de ref. del artículo: 010951
