Book 2 builds on the foundations established in Book 1 and equips the student with the necessary tools for more advanced studies. The origins of Bahamian society are described in detail together with an introduction to Bahamian culture and some of the problems of modern day living. The weather, climate and vegetation that give the Bahamas and the Caribbean their distinctive nature are dealt with in some detail. Book 3 brings to a natural conclusion these topics completing the course for students studying for The Bahamas Junior Certificate. The rise of modern Bahamian society and the modern economy is discussed as well as the history of The Bahamas since emancipation. A study of mapwork completes the practical requirements for the course.
