Die in dieser Abhandlung behandelte Sammlung stammt hauptsächlich aus drei weit von einander entfernten Gegenden von Brasilien: erstens aus der Umgegend des Städtchens Caldas im Süden von Minas Geraes, sowie aus den angrenzenden Teilen dieses Staates und von Sao Paulo; zweitens aus Rio Grande do Sul, dem südlichsten Staate von Brasilien, besonders nördlich vom vacacahy-jacuhy; und drittens aus Matte Grosse, bo sondcrs aus der Umgegend von Cuyaba.. Einzelne Arten sind in der Nähe von Rio de Janeiro, von Santos und in der Republik Paraguay gesammelt worden.
