The basic business law concepts are covered without extensive theory, thus making the law more approachable, and the breadth of the text, with examples and cases, provides an introduction to a variety of legal topics. Every case example, problem, and summary is from an actual US court case. Each chapter opens with a preview case which sets the stage for the topics covered within the chapter. Each preview case is then revisited in the chapter to demonstrate relevant concepts to the student. Among the cases that have been updated throughout the the text highlight trademark infringement (Hormel Foods, Inc vs Jim Henson Productions), computer tampering (Eastman Kodak Corp vs Versaggi), water pollution (EPA vs Cherokee Resources, Inc), agency (Bransfield vs Mobil Oil), and employment-at-will (Ryan vs Dan's Foods, Inc).
