Das vorliegende Buch soll mit einem Irrtum brechen, der nun schon weit über hundert jahre sich geltend macht, daß Kant ein großer Reformator der Philosophie sei, dem die philosophische Wissenschaft Gewaltiges verdanke. Ich weise nach, wie haltlos, wie verworren, ja, wie sehr das gerade Gegenteil einer echten Philosophie Kants Grund lehren sind.

Aber es handelt sich in der vorliegenden Schrift nicht bloß um eine Widerlegung der Kantischen Philosophie. Wenn ich hier Kant bekämpfe ich will den Fortschritt philosophischer Erkenntnis. Dieser Fortschritt ist gerade durch Kants Auftreten in hohem Grade gehemmt worden.
