Reseña del editor:
The more mobile and rootless and virtual we become as a culture, the more we long for vital connections to the places in which we find ourselves. The editors, photographers, poets and writers in this volume have sought to grapple with the issue of place and spirit in Indianapolis, Indiana. They focus on the connections, or lack thereof, between the seen and the unseen in a place historically significant for its typicality. Published in Association with the Polis Center, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.
Biografía del autor:
J. Kent Calder is Managing Editor, the Indiana Historical Society, and Editor of the Society's illustrated magazine, Traces of Indiana and Midwestern History. Susan Neville is a professor of English at Butler University. She has published several collections of short stories, including Indiana Winter (Indiana University Press, 1994). Kim Charles Ferrill is a freelance photographer who works with the Indiana Historical Society. He has illustrated two books, Hoosier Faiths (Indiana University Press, 1995) and Where God's People Meet (Guild Press, 1996).
