Rubbing of the book edges and panels. The top edge of the front panel has become a little torn. Cracking of the hinge between page VIII and 3. Tanning of the textblock edges and pages. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners with creasing of the panels. Rubbing of the book edges and panels with handling marks also present. There is a 4 inch tear to the lower left-hand corner of the front panel, and, in which a previous owner has supported with tape  and that the tape has bled to be seen on the front. What makes this copy unusual is not the book but all the extra inserts from newspapers dealing with Ronald Biggs and his wife after their divorce. Shelf wear to the lower book edges and rubbing to the other book edges. Browning and staining to the text block edges. The internal pages of the book are brown and the spine has been over opened between pages 6 and 7 and underlying webbing is visible. Dustwrapper is quite shabby. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and each of the corner has a small split. Chipping, with lost to both the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. The spine has become sun faded.
