I purchased this book as I am a newly qualified nurse and I have just started my first job on a neurosurgery ward. I have found the book really useful for quick reference and it provides an overview of most of the things I have come into contact with so far. I'm a nurse and coming from a medical ward to a neurosurgical ward was extremely difficult. I have looked at a few books which were more complex and mostly aimed at doctors. This book is excellent and covers all the areas that I need for neurosurgical nursing. I would definitely recommend for starting out in any neuro ward. The Oxford Handbook of Neuroscience Nursing is an invaluable resource when you need relevant and practical clinical guidance in dealing with complex clinical situations, or when caring for people with neurological problems for the first time.
