Bks.IX-XVI (A.Heubeck, etc.) Tr.fr.Italian (v.2) (A Commentary on Homer's "Odyssey") - Tapa dura

This is the second instalment of a three-volume presentation in English of a commentary on Homer's "Odyssey". In this volume Books ix-xvi of the "Odyssey" are examined in the light of recent linguistic, papyrological and formulaic scholarship. The commentaries by Heubeck and Hoekstra are both preceded by introductions dealing with the Books in question, with special attention being paid to diction in the "Odyssey" and the tradition of epic diction in general. For this English version the introductions and commentary have been revised and adapted to the text of T.W.Allen in the "Oxford Classical Texts" series.
