A good quick read to see life from Khushwant Singh's perspective. His experiences, his views and his truths, all make a fantastic read. Specially if you are curious about India around and post partition please read this and all other books of Khushwant Singh. Although it might not stand tall as compared to other of his books ( For a regular Khushwant reader, there would be lot of repeated stuff), still worth a read for his superb English and great thought pattern. --By Nitin Malhotra on 26 July 2013

It has a wealth of interesting infomation and provides deep insight into various facets of life;ie, the changing history ,the different stages of transition and its impact on the living.
