A book aimed at organic and medicinal chemists, and pharmacologists. This volume is an updated survey of the literature of heterocyclic review articles. It discusses the synthesis, structure, and reactions of uracils with particular emphasis on their utility in heterocylcic synthesis. It also provides a survey of the behaviour of thiodaldehydes and their seleno and teleuro analogues, and of thionitroso compounds and their seleno analogues, as heterodienophiles. A key feature of this overview is its coverage of the Russian language literature as well as Western sources. This is a subject which has exploded in recent years with three quarters of the reference from the last decade.
