However, most practices still rely on standard forms, usually on mainly historical interest, from which staff extract such clauses as appear suitable for the work in hand. In most cases these bear little relationship to modern practice. In this fully revised and updated second edition the author shows how both students and practitioners can prepare and build ip suitable clauses and specifications for a variety of building contracts. Some standard specifications are incorporated, each with a running explanation on the clauses used. The text uses the latest SMM layout and nomenclature, and a chapter is devoted to the use of the National Building Specification.
