As the concern over groundwater quality receives increasing attention worldwide, an international seminar on Pollution, Protection and Control of Groundwater was held in Brazil. Researchers from all over the world came together to exchange their experience and discuss methods of maintaining and improving groundwater quality. Their papers are presented in this volume, covering chemical and radioactive pollution, monitoring, groundwater characterization, environmental impacts, modelling analysis and evaluation of groundwaters and potential pollution sources. Case histories are presented as well as detailed experimental investigations, prevention processes, remedial techniques and other methods.
