Pursued by some unsavoury characters from the Jerusalem slums, young Pagan Kidrouk has an idea to avoid paying his debts - he'll join the order of the Templars. But instead of escorting naive pilgrims, he finds himself defending Jerusalem against Saladin - not exactly what he had in mind.
