IN POLISH. BEAUTIFUL BOOK. Previous owner's name to FFEP and top edge. Dustjacket good. Moderately scuffed jacket. A few open tears, 1.5" and less, to jacket edge. Electric green lettering debossed to spine. Red-orange lettering debossed to front along with green debossed likeness of Malczewski within a 7 x 10" lined frame. Mauve cloth-covered boards. With 81 black and white photographs, and 25 color photographs. All color photographs are tipped-in. Book measures 11 x 11.25". 133 pp with bibliography and list of all illustrations. Jacek Malczewski (1854 -- 1929) was one of the most outstanding Polish artists of the period. His most famous canvasses include, "Bledne Kolo" (The Mad Circle), "Melancholia", "Natchnienie Malarza" (Painter's muse) and "Wizja" (A Vision). This is a collection of his work.
