Copper engraving. Original colour. Size: 20 x 27.5 cm. (8 x 11 inches). Fine condition. Attractive map of Egypt. Title cartouche at left centre. Maps by Sanson in original colour are rare. Nicolas Sanson was founder of the French school of mapmakers, at a time when the leadership in European cartography passed from the Low Countries to France.
