This American playwright -- step-grandson of Robert Louis Stevenson -- achieved Broadway success with a number of his early 20th century plays, and several went on to become successful films, most notably "Seventh Heaven" (1927 Academy Award-winner; and 1937 James Stewart vehicle), "Three Wise Fools" (1923 and 1946), "A Good Little Devil" (1914), "The Fall of the Romanoffs" (1917) and "Along Came Love" (1936).
