Hardback, quarto; pale blue boards, dust jacket. 216 pages. 185 colour illustrations. German & English. 305x250mm. 1.6kg. Near fine, in near fine dust jacket; slight wear to jacket, some light knocks to top edge of boards. A monograph on the life and work of Dodo, as Dorte Clara Wolff was known. Dodo saw success in Berlin and Zurich during the 1920s and '30s, and Renate Krummer's book revives her art for a new audience. The book was published to accompany the exhibition 'Dodo - A Life in Pictures' at the Kunstbibliothek - Saatliche Museen zu Berlin and Ben Uri, The London Jewish Museum of Art. The text and generous illustrations document her career - from early Art Deco stylised fashion illustrations, through her satirical work documenting Berlin high society for the magazine ULK and her involvement in the New Objectivity movement, then her Zurich work influenced by Jung, to her years in London as a Jewish immigrant.
