"Between the years 1813 and 1823 the artist William Daniell travelled round the coast of Great Britain, startling at Land's End and finishing there ten years later. During this time he recorded many of the harbours, headlands and coastal features which were then engraved and published in eight volumes. David Abbey is retracing Daniell's steps and recordering, wherever possible, the same views as they are today. Daniell's engravings are here reproduced in b&w with extracts from his diary describing the scenes. David Addey's works ar in watercolour and depict the same scenes in a traditional and recognisable manner and are accompanied by his comments on the changed that have taken place over the years." 74 color and 74 b&w illlustrations.
