Descripción Hardcover. Condición: NF. Estado de la sobrecubierta: NF. Plaotos, Plans, Diagrams Etc Ilustrador. 1st. The British Harrier vertical take-off-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft marked a dramatic step forward in the development of military aviation. After intensive test and trials flying of the Harrier the concept of VTOL combat aircraft was accapted and the aircraft issued to the Royal Air Force and later the Royal Navy. It played an important role with both services during the Falklands War and with the RAF in the Gulf War. The Harrier design was also manufactured in the United States and these were to see action in the Gulf War with the Marine Corps. As the design was developed and improved the offensive capability of the Harrier was continually enhanced in the form of bombs and missiles while guns could be carried in pods under the fuselage. The armed services of Spain, Italy and India purchased the aircraft in liminted numbers, mainly for use from naval ships. Probably no other book covers the life and times of the Harrier in such depth and detail as does Davies and Thornborough's excellent publication covering this unique and historic aircraft. The text contains much material provided by those who designed, developed and tested the aircraft and those who flew it in combat or squadron service. Highly recommended to any aircrraft enthusiast.
