Laurie Krebs, a seasoned traveller and former teacher from Connecticut, was inspired to write this book after going on a safari in Tanzania. A mother of four grown children and five grandchildren, she seeks to expose all children to a variety of different cultures and environments through her writing. Julia Cairns began her career as a fine artist when she moved to Botswana where she worked for nine years. She continues to be inspired by the joy and hopeful spirit of the African people. She also illustrated the soon to be released Grandad's Tree: Poems About Families (2002) for Barefoot Books. She currently resides in Northern California with her husband and two children and a bevy of farm animals.Reseña del editor:
Everyone is invited to join Arusha, Mosi and Tumpe as they set out on a counting journey through the Tanzanian plains. Along the way, they spy all sorts of animals - including elephants, lions and monkeys - while learning to count from one to ten in both English and Kiswahili.
