William Northover was born in June 1920, and has seen a great deal since then. He served in Africa with the Eighth Army during the Second World War. He was sectioned and forced to struggle in frustration against both the institute holding him and his own thoughts. In an autobiography spanning over 90 years, he delves into the mysterious gaps in his early life, his experiences during the war, the difficulty of maintaining a relationship whilst serving abroad and, in quieter times, his passion for gardening.
