Biografía del autor:
Juanita Noyola Tobías was born in Abram, Texas. She is the third child in a family of eight children. Her parents, Juan and Olivia Noyola, were poor migrant workers but always instilled in her and her siblings the importance of an education. She had a strong desire to go to college and pursue a degree in education, but she was not able to while at home with her parents because just like many other Hispanic children, she was expected to work after getting her high school education so that she could help out financially. Her dream became a reality when she was offered the opportunity of attending a local college. She graduated in 1979 with a degree in elementary education and worked as an elementary school teacher for many years. She really enjoyed working with all her students, teaching them to always work hard and never give up no matter how difficult the challenge. Juanita is now retired, but she is still working part-time since she has a passion for teaching. She has written this book, The Truce, because it is her desire to help children understand that bullying is not a way to handle problems.
