Reseña del editor:
Only the spider on the wall saw me take it. There were always spiders in the corners, in the cracks of the walls, in the sinks. The big banana spiders were always covering the bushes and trees in the yard. We use to feed them the huge grasshoppers and crickets we caught in the summer time. I walked back down the hall, through the kitchen, to my bed room. The walls of my room were covered with pieces of window tinting I'd found in the dumpster. I crumbled them up with the reflective side out and stapled them to the walls. I had a few of the black velvet posters on the walls and a weird collection of things hanging on string from the ceiling. I hated the regular incandescent light and only used candles or colored light. I had a black cloth for a door to my room and black curtains over the windows. I put the Eagle's Wasted Time on the stereo and sat down between the speakers. Wasted time is what my life was, nothing but a waste. I opened the chamber of the revolver and checked to be sure it was fully loaded. All six there, I closed the chamber and spun it. I put the barrel to my head then in my mouth. The letter I wrote wasn't long but it should do the job. After thirty years I still remember the taste of the metal and the sound of the hammer fall of the pistol. His story is the stuff of action movies on the big screen, but he did not write it to glamorize crime, he said. The point is the moral to the story . 'Stealing Vegas' Hopper was 26 in 1992, when his father persuaded him to participate in a daring daylight robbery of the famous Las Vegas Stardust Casino. It didn't take much - just an envelope stuffed with $5,000 that convinced him on 'Stealing Vegas' telling his boss off and leave to embark on the criminal enterprise with his father, brother and an accomplice. "I did not write Thief in the House to glamorize crime but to share my journey and the Second Chance I have been given to make things right." His story is the stuff action movies on the big screen are made of, except one thing is different, it is Jeffry Hoppers true life story and the hell he lived when on April 6, 1992, four men decided to "Steal Vegas" and became a Thief in the House.
