In a world of lost ways it is often difficult to find understanding. With all types of religions and philosophies saying the same thing in different ways, choosing a faith to believe in and follow can be as confusing as being lost. Being lost would lead me on the search for understanding, which would in turn lead to the discovery of personal belief and faith outside of self. "New Free Life" is the story of my path thru confusion to simple understanding. I was born and raised as an American boy whose dream of becoming a professional football player came true. As that dream became reality, I woke up to the reality that our world remained lost deeply in confusion and by using my life to play a game I would not be doing a thing to help free understanding. Now, my new dream is to share in the way of spiritual awakening to understand purpose, faith and belief.
Biografía del autor:
Derek was born in Yakima, Washington but grew up in the Denver metropolitan city of Thornton, Colorado. As a stand out student athlete throughout his school days, Derek became most well known for his performance as a wide receiver catching passes for the University of Colorado football program from 2001-2003. After college, Derek had opportunities to play professional ball with several teams from 2004-2007, but none of the situations panned out. As the years went by as a player, Derek was less and less able to blend in with the football culture. In 2005, sensing he was sent to do more than play ball, Derek began reading the various holy books and spiritual teachings. He found understanding and was able to transform his understanding into words.Recognizing his next step in life to be as a writer, Derek would begin his new path with his first work, "New Free Life."
