It is the definitive history of Whitby, Ontario from its colonial beginnings. In the book, there is rather more pre-Confederation history than most accounts. The history also covers large swaths of Ontario north of Whitby; including, Myrtle Station (a gun fight), and Brooklin (serious flooding), There are hundreds of vintage photographs throughout.
