Gwen Bohnenkamp is an internationally recognized author and behaviorist. As President of Perfect Paws, Inc. in San Francisco, Gwen provided training and consultation services to pet owners, veterinarians and humane associations throughout the United States and Canada. As Vice President of The Center for Applied Animal Behavior in Berkeley California, she co-authored a series of behavior booklets with veterinarian Dr. Ian Dunbar. At the San Francisco SPCA, Gwen founded and directed the largest and most comprehensive animal behavior correction program in the United States. She established and implemented the San Francisco SPCA's Animal Behavior Hotline, the country's first call-in animal behavior correction service. During her career, Gwen has spoken on the topic of animal behavior for numerous local, civic and professional organizations, including the Commonwealth Club of California. Gwen has appeared in a variety of media including TV (where she had her own segment titled "Pet Calls"), newspaper and magazine (People Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, Better Homes and Gardens, TV Guide); and for over eight years appeared on Northern California's most popular news-talk radio station, answering questions on animal behavior. Gwen has instructed a course on Applied Animal Behavior at San Francisco State University and is the author of Help! My Dog Has an Attitude; Manners for the Modern Dog; From the Cat's Point of View and Raising Kaylee.
