The Royal Navy's last new destroyer design to participate in WWII was the Battle class of which there were 16 in the first group and eight in a second batch, with two other ships built in Australia. The class was designed for the Pacific War, but only a few ships were worked up before hostilities ended. An unusual feature of the class was grouping the main armament in two foward twin turrets. The last of the RN ships was disposed of in the early 1970s A scarce, but quality, reference for the warship buff.
