In the foothills of the Italian Alps an extraordinary community has grown up. Founded by a handful of like minded people it has now become a 600 strong federation of communities. In Italy, 23 years ago, a group of people dug deep into an Alpine mountain side and built the Temple of Mankind at Damanhur – an extraordinary work of art that has been described as ‘an eighth wonder of the world’.

Here, for the first time, is the story of the remarkable community of Damanhur.

The construction of their magnificent artistic temple in the mountain, in a quiet valley some thirty miles north of Turin, is just one of the outstanding achievements of the people of Damanhur. In creating their community, they have drawn on ancient knowledge and esoteric traditions, as well as more recent theories.

By combining philosophy, radical physics and science with the arcane traditions of alchemy and sacred ritual, the community has perfected a practical system of esoteric physics. This system has enabled them to develop complex ways of storing subtle energy, and they have also carried out experiments in such areas as healing and time travel.
