The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white reproductions of the author's artwork, on the left hand side of the book is the myth/tradition and on the right-hand side is an artwork representing the same. Orange coloured boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by author, with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Softening to the head and to the heel of the backstrip along with a little fading and some bumping to the book corners. Browning to the textblock edges and light age toning of the in eternal pages. A previous owner has used "whiteout" to cover their name to the top right-hand corner of the free front endpaper. A few stains to the first few pages of the book. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and there is some rubbing and creasing to both the dustwrapper edges and to the dustwrapper panels. The major damage has been caused by voracious insects  their efforts can be seen along the front fold over crease edge, the backstrip, the rear panel and a little to the rear fold over crease.
