Michael D. Lyman has more than 30 years of experience as a senior criminal investigator, certified police instructor, and criminal justice professor. His expertise includes police practices and procedures, investigative process, use of force, and knowledge of nationally recognized standards of care.
Dr. Lyman is a professor of criminal justice at Columbia College of Missouri and a visiting professor of law enforcement at the University of Oklahoma. In addition, he spent three years as a certified police instructor with the Law Enforcement Training Institute. He also served as a senior agent/criminal investigator for 11 years with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, where he was assigned to the street enforcement and intelligence divisions, and with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation as special agent/criminal investigator in the field division.
