An interesting collection of typographical ephemera. ONE: Landscape 8vo wood engraving, captioned 'This illustration, entitled "Psyche in Charon's Boat," was engraved on wood by William Morris from a design by Edward Burne-Jones and forms one of a series in illustration of the story of Cupid and Psyche in "The Earthly Paradise." It is proposed to issue one or two of these designs, which have never been published, though one of them formed the frontispiece to the "Note on the Kelmscott Press" by Mr. S. C. Cockerell.' In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. Stamped 'SPECIMEN' in top left-hand corner. TWO: 8vo collotype engraving by Emery Walker of 'Portrait of Mrs. Morris by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. This picture is known as "The Water-Willow," and is in the possession of S. Bancroft, Esq., Junior, of Wilmington, Delaware. It has never previously been reproduced.' In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. Stamped 'SPECIMEN' in top left-hand corner. THREE: Prospectus by Longmans, Green & Co., 39 Paternoster Row, London; New York, Bombay, and Calcutta. 4pp., 8vo. Bifolium. In fair condition, on lightly-aged paper. 'The Collected Works | of William Morris | to be issued in twenty-four volumes | under the editorship of Miss May Morris', followed by a vignette of three maidens. The first page also carries a long quotation from the Times Literary Supplement, 29 December 1910, reviewing the edition positively. Postdating Item Six below. FOUR: 'Specimen pages of the collected edition of the works of William Morris edited by May Morris from "The Hollow Land" and "The Earthly Paradise"'. 4pp., 8vo. Very good, on lightly-aged paper. The two central pages carry the specimen pages from 'The Hollow Land', and the back page the specimen from 'The Earthly Paradise'. FIVE: Order form, dated 1910. 1p., landscape 12mo.
