VERY RARE gilded & embossed illustrated hardcover, sorry, no dust-jacket. "In the Wilds of Florida" By W. H. G. Kingston. From the The Kingston Library for Boys series, this book is believed to be the First Edition, published by T. Nelson and Sons, London, 1890. 12mo, 19.4 cm x 13.5 cm x 3.6 cm, Blue cloth-covered boards, Gilt & black embossed lettering & decoration, and gilt panel on spine, Black lettering & decoration on front cover, Clear embossed motif on back cover, Decorated end papers. 461 pages. Weight: 727 Grams. CONTENTS ARE LIKE NEW!!! Spine is discoloured but mostly clean, sturdy, bumped, faded & scuffed either end, gilt quite bright but slightly worn away in places, binding tight! Cover is a bit grubby & foxed, some marks & scratches, edge wear. Corners are bumped & frayed, boards exposed there. Ink annotation on title page. Page 72 & 113 have a mark in margin. Tiny bump where paper is torn & creased on bottom edge of p. 303/304. Some pages (very few) have faint smudges mostly in margins, and/or light handling creases. Light age tanning & rare foxing throughout. RARE ITEM, EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR ITS AGE!!! Full title: "In the Wilds of Florida - A Tale of Warfare and Hunting".
