Condición: Good. - Quarto [11-1/2 inches high by 8-3/4 inches wide], green cloth titled in gilt with a vignette stamped in gilt on the front cover, in a dust wrapper. The binding is bumped with a small stain to the bottom corner of the front cover & a small piece out of the cloth of the rear cover at the tail of the spine. The top edges of the covers are slightly darkened. The dust jacket is rubbed, chipped & lightly soiled with staining to the top ends of its folds. There is a tear & creasing to the top edge of the jacket rear panel with pieces out of the head & tail of the jacket spine. xii & 107 pages plus colophon. Illustrated in black & white with 2 plates, including a frontispiece, and numerous full- and half-page illustrations. Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This approximately 8 7/8 by 11 3/4 inch volume has 107+pages, the leafs with black-and-white images are not included in the page count. There are tears to the green cloth boards at the spine, about 1/2 inches at the top at the joint between the spine cover and the front board and horizontally across the foot of the spine. The boards can be seen through the tips. What makes this item unique is the inscription by the artist's brother, William P. McKenzie. William taught at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, New York, and was asked by Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy to join the Christian Scientists, and became involved with their publications and was subsequently a Trustee and member of the Board of Directors for the Christian Scientists. The lettering and decoration, a diver about to dive, are in gilt on the front cover and there is gilt lettering on the spine. This is the First US edition of the publication. The end papers for this volume are on heavier paper than the rest of the book and are in a green similar to the color of the covers and cream in vertical patterns. Affixed to the front paste down is an "International Bookfinders" tag. There are several places in the book where the webbing of the binding can be seen. Nº de ref. del artículo: SpSi770
