First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 460pp. Dark green cloth lettered in gold at the spine and upper board. The spine lettering a little darkened and the backstrip ends rubbed and a little frayed. Binding cracked and tender at the title page and at one other gathering. Top edge dust soiled. A small area of moisture marking impacts the lower corner to the first two or three leaves. Place-marker creases to the tips of several text leaves, and some occasional marginal spotting and staining. Contemporary former owner name and date inked to the front free endpaper. A fair copy.
