1946 printing of the First Edition. There are two dates on copyright page, 1944 and 1946. The book is bound in fine beige cloth with Louis Darling illustration stamped in blue on the front cover. Covers have light soiling . Corners are gently rolled and the heel of spine is softened. Gift inscription dated March 7th, 1947 on the ffe. Otherwise, pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. Includes 12 full page illustrations by American illustrator, writer and environmentalist Louis Darling, illustrator of Beverly Cleary books and one of the illustrators of the first edition of Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring." 352 pp. N° de ref. del artículo ABE-1707501864154
