Fr.pastedown has laebl removal ghost top outer corner, pencilled press number and sm.stamp bottom inner corner 'Wellcome London', facing free endpaper has sm.pencilled prev.owner's dated sig.bottom inner corner (19.10.11), no further internal marking though v.faint trace of erased pencilling top t.p. of little consequence, if once in the Wellcome library it was deaccessioned long before recent clear-out and devoid of any other internal stamps, back gutter cracked exposing netting but firm; attractively blind-stamped covers faded beyond centre of boards, corners bumped, sp.ends rubbed with chipping to tops of joints, 3 sm.round label ghosts bottom sp. An historically important early work by the great Danish archaeologist who introduced the Stone-Bronze-Iron Age sequence. Despite faults a very acceptable copy. Size: 15 Cm x 22.5 Cm.
