First edition 2 vols, 8vo (8.5 in x 5.25 in), pp. viii, 380; viii, 375, (1), extra engraved titles, 46 engraved plates after drawings by Richard Doyle. Half red hard grain morocco and marbled boards by M & M. Lambert, Newcastle with their binder's tickets on the front pastedown endpapers, backs in six gilt paneled compartments, gilt lettered in the second and fourth, gilt center and corner ornaments in the rest. Gilt roll tooled trim on the sides, matching marbled edges and endpapers. Very good with some rubbing to sides and minor wear to edges and corners.
