First Edition. -- Condition: Fine, with the exception of some light spotting to the edges of the pages, in near fine dust jacket, price-clipped. -- Details: A fine example of one of Farnol's swashbuckling historic murder mysteries. First edition with 'Adam Penfeather, Buccaneer' (1940) listed as the most recent publication opposite title page, and no later printings listed to verso of title page. Jeffery Farnol (1878-1952) was a British writer known for writing more than 40 period romance and swashbuckling novels, set in the Georgian Era or English Regency period, and swashbucklers. He, with Georgette Heyer, largely initiated the Regency romantic genre. -- Octavo (book size 19.3x13.4cm), pp. v [1] 329 [1]. In publisher's red cloth, spine and front panel lettered and ruled in black. Dust jacket price clipped to lower corner of front flap, all other corners neatly trimmed. --.
