London: Printed for W.B. and sold by J. Nutt, 1702, First Edition. Quarter calf leather binding with marbled boards, four raised bands, gilt titles, all page edges gilt. Six pages with text cut out specific words or names removed, to pages A5 of the Preface then pages 1, 13, 41, 43, 51, and 131. The corner missing to page 55 with loss to the text, smoke damage with loss to p133. Ink stains throughout, some more severe at page 165 and 167 and onwards see photos. Pagination (1)-(128), [129]-[144], (129)-(255). Signatures Title, A4 to A8 (A5 lacking one should be A6), B to I in gatherings of 8, iK in gathering of 8, K to R in gatherings of 8. A gathering signed ik and numbered 129-144 is inserted between signatures I and K. (British Library Citation number T138172). Page 255 or R8 is handwritten. Provenance: inscription to Miss Jane Guthrie of Guthrie from the Bishop of Buchan, April 18th 1855 . Approximately 7 inches tall.
