Internally clean. A very pleasing example of the author's rare novel, concerned one day (28 June 1914 ) in the life of an eight-year-old farm-loving boy and the flash-back history of his agrarian family, showing an unerring eye for the child's perspective and the rural world of England in the early 20th century.
