VERY RARE illustrated hardcover book, sorry no dust-jacket. "Leonard's Temptation" By Bessie Marchant (Mrs. J. A. Comfort). This book is believed to be the First Edition, published by Robert Culley, London, 1902. 12mo, 19.1 cm x 13.1 cm x 2.1 cm, Green decorated cloth-covered boards, Yellow, pink & black decoration on spine, Yellow lettering and black, pink and blue decoration showing a lady sat in a horse-drawn carriage and a man holding the horse on front cover. 192 pages. Weight: 351 Grams. CONTENTS ARE LIKE NEW!!! However, there is damage to paper and mesh is exposed in between end papers and free end papers at front & back of book. Spine is discoloured & slightly scuffed in places, bumped & scuffed either end, decoration a little worn away but fully visible, binding tight! Cover is discoloured alongside spine both sides but mostly clean, decoration very nice but slightly worn away & scuffed in places, edge wear. Corners are scuffed & slightly bumped. Top edge is darkened. Some pages (very few) have tiny edge bumps & tears, and/or corner folds/creases. Pages 99/100 and 101/102 have a stained & slightly damaged top corner. Tiny shop sticker on last end paper. Light age tanning & very occasional foxing throughout. VERY RARE ITEM, BEAUTIFUL INSIDE!!! Full title: "Leonard's Temptation - A Story of Gambling".
