1st edition, 1908. 8vo , 8.75 x 6 inches, pp. x + 290 + 4 plates + 3 large fold out diagrams, numerous illustrations in text, coloured endpapers, hardback in half-leather, library binding. Book condition - VG., contents clean, one front flyleaf somewhat browned and foxed with owner's inscription "Norman Harvey Trembath. Feb 14th 1920", slight foxing of other preliminary pages but very little in text, ex-library with bookplate of Warrington Municipal Library inside front board and with small library stamps to verso of title page and a few others in text block but not affecting text, fold-out plates in good condition ; library style binding with red morocco spine and corners and red cloth to boards, gilt title, simple gilt lines at top and bottom of spine and gilt accession number towards base, corners intact and not bent and only a little rubbed, hinges very sound, back clean, spine complete with no wear or fading and bright gilt, front clean.
