This is Number 38 of the De Luxe First Edition of 1902, signed by the Publishers, not the Author, in White Buckram, lettered in Gilt and with Gilt vignettes. Interesting gift dedication on Half Title page (see image). Two pages of Publisher's adverts to rear. Intro XV; 301 pages including Index, but not the Adverts. Including the Frontispiece, there are 92 coloured and colourful Illustrations of watercolours by the celebrated artist John Fulleylove RI. Each print a "joy to behold," each print protected by a page of tissue, and each tissue having the title of the adjacent print. NOTE: Very slight tear (15mm) to the border of the Frontispiece, not affecting the Plate. In the days when Preaching was an Art Form, the author John Kelman was a noted Edinburgh preacher. IMPORTANT NOTE: When bound originally, the binding glue used was "caoutchouc/gutta percha;" this glue deteriorates over time, in this case 120 years; pages and plates come adrift and may be lost. This copy is complete and just back from my Bookbinder who has replaced the original glue with a modern adhesive. It is now good for another 120 years, and will see you, and I, out. This Edition not issued with a Dust Jacket Free Royal Mail Special Delivery (Guaranteed by 1300 Monday to Friday), to UK mainland address. Postage Abroad: Quoted Individually by Country.
