Interior is clean and free of marks, pages clean. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: An excellent Civil War regimental history of a unit that participated in most of the major engagements in the western theater. They participated in the Siege of Corinth, Mississippi, from May 18 to May 30, 1862 and with Grant's operations in central Mississippi including the Vicksburg Campaign. The regiment participated in the Third Battle of Chattanooga from November 23-27 1863. It participated in Sherman's March to the Sea from November 15 to December 10, 1864 and finished the war during the Carolinas Campaign from January to April 1865. This book contains detailed histories of the different companies in the Fourth Regiment. It also has a roster and final record of the regiment that gives the company, birthplace, residence at time of enlistment, and residence after the war of most of the men.
