Doctor Zhivago, Boris Pasternak, Collins & Harvill Press, 1959, First Edition Reprint Adapted many times but most famously into a film in 1965 directed by David Lean starring Omar Sheriff, Julie Christie, Garaldine Chaplin and Alec Guiness. The film was a huge commercial success winning five Oscars. This epic tale about the effects of the Russian Revolution and its aftermath on a bourgeois family was not published in the Soviet Union until 1987. A First Edition Reprint in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the red cloth boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in fair condition with loss to the top edge of the front cover, the top edge of the spine and the top edge of the back cover, a small tear to the bottom edge of the front cover and nibbling to the bottom edge of the spine.
