Coetzee, Secker & Warburg, 1999, First Edition, First Impression Winner of the 1999 Booker Prize and listed on the BBC News list of 100 most influential novels in 2019, this is a story, set in post-apartheid South Africa, of David Lurie, a twice-divorced professor at Cape Technical University who following an affair with a younger student retreats to his daughter's isolated smallholding. A First Edition, First Impression in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is slight shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions. The unclipped dust jacket is in near fine condition with some shelf wear to the top edge of the spine and slight nibbling to the top edge of the back cover.
